Steve Prochnow

has been playing music in one form or another since entering the world oh so many years ago. An accomplished guitarist, Steve draws from an extensive repetoire of blues, roots, British Invasion and American music, delighting audiences with his precision picking and stylized vocals. A true "Bluesman" he plays acoustic, electric, twelve string, resonator and slide guitar. He also has extensive experience in recording and engineered the Blue Chin Roots Christmas music on this site. Honing his craft as a touring musician in the Pacific Northwest, Steve brought an earthy presence to Blue Chin Roots and was also a member of Mr Chin's Hot Sauce until relocating to the Atlantic Coast in 2021.

Chris Ferreira

began playing guitar when the Beatles burst onto the scene in the early 60's. As a member of Blue Chin Roots, Chris's main instrument was mandolin, though he often added guitar or banjo as needed. For several years, he contributed to the Mandolin Cafe "Song A Week" forum. As a member of the 80's Bay Area pop phenom "The Tickets", Chris opened shows for the likes of Huey Lewis, Greg Kihn, Cold Blood, Tommy Tutone, The Producers and Pablo Cruise back in the day. Chris currently plays keyboards and electric mandolin with Mr Chin's Hot Sauce.
